The purpose of the ASHP-accredited PGY1 Residency at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato is to prepare the resident for a position in patient care/clinical pharmacy in an institutional setting by allowing the resident to work closely with a network of Mayo Clinic Health System physicians, pharmacists, and allied health care professionals in a 272-bed, community hospital and regional healthcare system comprised of critical access hospitals and clinics. The resident will acquire core skills in various pharmacotherapy areas, including internal medicine, infectious disease, critical care, ambulatory care, management, and education. The resident will work closely with pharmacy students and medical residents and will be an active member on various health system committees. Research, a quality improvement project, interdisciplinary continuing education presentations, and online staffing are required.
