Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Dietitian.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing optimum nutritional care to patients admitted to general medical, surgical or pediatric units throught nutrition screening, assessment, support , counseling, metabolic monitoring, and medical team communication. Act asan ambassador for food and nutrition services while delivering world class care.
Plans work assignments accordantly and utilizes time effectively.
Provides assistance and contrigutes new ideas to the department
Functions as a resources person to Nutrition Students/Residents and medical team regarding the nutritional management of patients admitted to oun unit
Participates in internship preceptorship
Provides in-service education, Actively participates in patient satisfaction initiatives, including unit rounding.
Assessess patient's nutritional status/risk effectively and plans appropriate treatment accordingly.
Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Services Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Sciences or a related major. Successful completion of a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education (CADE) 1200 hour dietetic internship program with emphasis on clinical applications. Registered Dietitian (RD). Successful completion of the RD exam approved though the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR -the credentialing Agency for ADA) - must be obtained within the first six months of employment. Certified Dietitian/ Nutritionist (CDN) Must be obtained within 1 year of hire date. Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
