The primary purpose of this position is to support applications and/or information systems, as a Desktop Support and Deployment Specialist. Additionally, this position will configure and utilize technologies purposed for supporting the end-user computing environment, such as, but not limited to, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or CasperSuite. Supporting the end-user computing environment may consist of application packaging, testing and deployment, general support functions within assigned deployment technologies, troubleshooting end-user computing devices and/or SCCM/CasperSuite-related issues ranging from deployments, patching and updates, as well as operating system imaging within Eastern Washington University's computing environment. This position requires advanced hardware and software diagnostic skills, as well as information technology knowledge, including: desktop operating systems, software/application configuration and patching scripting, and query-building skills. Applicant must be able to successfully demonstrate technical documenting procedures as well as be able to effectively communicate to both technical staff and end users (non-technical). High attention to detail and ability to multi-task are required.

Conditions of Employment

This is an agency shop position.
Ability to lift 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and sit as needed for office and computer work.
Wrist and hand movements required as needed for keyboarding.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent Field; or equivalent industry experience
Minimum three (3) years' experience working with and supporting client-based hardware, including computers, software, printers, telephony, enhanced classroom technologies, and network devices
Previous experience using SCCM (preferably 2012) or CasperSuite to deploy software, Microsoft security updates, and third party software updates
Previous experience creating and troubleshooting core client technologies such as Group Policies, Office and Internet Explorer customizations, and logon scripts
Proficient in standard scripting languages to improve and automate implementation and support activities (VBScript, PowerShell)
Experience working with and supporting business productivity applications, e.g. Office 2011/2013/2016, Visio, Project, Adobe Creative Suite Applications, etc.
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.
MCTS - Administering and Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Certification
