The TSA Program Coordinator is responsible for clerical and general administrative support for the Key Executive Leadership Certificate TSA LI program. This position entails coordination with TSA agency contacts, university constituents, and Key staff members to develop and implement the academic programs.
The incumbent is responsible for tracking faculty and program schedules; coordinate programs by communicating with students, Key staff, internal constituents at American University and external constituents to ensure deadlines are scheduled. Assist students in their assigned activities in between classes, and serves as a point of contact and problem solver in between scheduled classes. Process class registration for students
The TSA Program Coordinator is required to be present during every class session to participate in informal and formal participant meetings, and review all surveys to quickly address any and all problems that may arise with any aspect of the program.
This position requires minimal supervision and independent judgment.
This position is contingent upon external funding.
Routine and significant domestic travel will be required by this position. The incumbent will spend approximately half of their time at TSA training facilities in New Jersey when classes are in session.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least two years of administrative experience
Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills
Must be highly detail-oriented, self-starter with strong leadership skills, able to engage in and contribute to a growing program with a strong team ethics
Ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure, and constantly changing environment
Must have significant experience working with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, spreadsheets, PowerPoint software, and Internet research experience
