Full Time; One Year Contract Starting Salary Range: $21.00-$25.00/hourly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involves developing, implementing and / or maintaining recruitment and other employment and sourcing programs and policies. Provides advice and counsel on employment practices and recruitment processes.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager, the Talent Acquisition Consultant (TAC) serves as a primary consultant to administrators, managers and supervisors on a wide array of talent acquisition and recruitment related functions.
Performs analysis of, develops and implements recruitment strategies across the organization and in designated business units to successfully attract a high quality workforce. Partners with hiring managers to discuss ideal approaches for acquiring needed talent and directly assists with complex hiring situations. Provides guidance and strategies to accomplish recruitment related goals and objectives. Advises on all stages from initial recruitment planning, effective applicant screening and interviewing techniques, process documentation, and the hiring and onboarding of qualified candidates.
The TAC is responsible for identifying and defining position qualifications and developing job postings that ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State employment law, UC policy, Union Contracts, and best practices; cultivates strong professional networks; directly assists job seekers and applicants to understand and effectively use the recruitment process; actively participates in community outreach and job fairs and facilitates the UCSC applicant workshops.
Uses professional employment and staffing techniques and concepts for recruitment/ employment, sourcing programs, and policies for the organization. Employment Recruitment and search efforts are of moderate scope and complexity. Works on staffing / employment for aimed at hiring skilled operational, and technical, and professional level positions. Normally receives general direction on staffing and employment assignments, with more detailed direction provided on new or more specialized and complex assignments. Exercises judgment within defined staffing and employment procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Works with internal and external contacts.

This position is part of a dynamic Talent Acquisition team of professionals and closely collaborates with a broader HR team serving the UCSC campus.
Current work-site is UCSC Scotts Valley Center at 100 Enterprise Way, Scotts Valley, CA.
The selected candidate will be required to:
- Pass a pre-employment criminal history background check
- Complete Title IX (Sexual Harassment) training every two years
- Work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation
- Work an occasional weekend or evening
- Travel to multiple work-site locations on and off campus, workshops, job fairs, meetings, etc., on the UCSC main campus as well as in or near the greater Santa Cruz, San Jose, and San Francisco areas
