BROWN UNIVERSITY FACULTY POSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS
The Department of Physics at Brown University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, starting in the summer of 2018. This position is part of an ongoing initiative for further growth in interdisciplinary quantum condensed matter research at Brown University, including the upgraded clean-room microfabrication and electron microscopy facilities in the new School of Engineering building adjacent to the Physics Department and a concurrent search in condensed matter theory. We seek candidates who have the potential to create a vigorous research program at Brown. A strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is also required. Current research in condensed matter physics at Brown is very active across many topics, including topological matter, strongly correlated electronic systems, spintronics, quantum liquids and solids, superconductivity, nanoscale physics, ultrafast and quantum optics, semiconductor physics and devices, and magnetism. Candidates planning to pursue other condensed matter sub-fields are also strongly encouraged to apply.
