Under general supervision, provide support to the Principal Investigator for a study to assess how emerging adult men who have sex with men (MSM) are influenced by where they go (their geographic context) and who they hang out with (their social context). We will use cell phone technologies (e.g., GPS, cell-phone delivered questions, use of partner seeking apps) to ask participants them questions about their location and social network to understand how these contexts relate to risky behavior (e.g., sexual risk, substance use).The purpose of this position is to oversee study activities and personnel and to manage the considerable amount of data.
Essential Duties 1. Manage and link components of the studies by being involved in all aspects of the research projects. 2. Establish study operating procedures. 3. Develop study protocol, survey methodology, data coding, and data management procedures. 4. Set up and manage participant tracking and data systems. 5. Develop protocols to train and supervise research staff. 6. Develop procedural and quality assurance protocols in order to maintain standardized data. 7. Monitor retention. 8. Correspond with collaborators at Yale and with other site at the University of Georgia. 9. Oversee development of survey instruments. 10. Assist with design and analysis of qualitative and quantitative aspects of the study. 11. Manage Institutional Review Board and human subjects protection issues. 12. Other duties as deemed necessary by PI.
