The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor level without tenure in the clinical-educator or clinician-scientist pathways. Applicants must have a medical degree (M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent) and be Board certified or Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
We are looking for a physiatrist with an interest in neurorehabilitation. This individual will be primarily caring for patients in an outpatient setting, though may share opportunities to provide inpatient consultative services or cover our 16-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. Special interest in spinal cord injury and spasticity management (e.g. intrathecal baclofen pump management and/or botulinum toxin injections) is a plus. Other focal areas of interest could include acquired brain injury (stroke, brain injury, brain tumor), cancer rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostics. The recruited physician will be working primarily at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, an integral part of the University of Washington academic Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. We encourage our faculty to pursue scholarly work in addition to providing clinical training and education to the residents.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
