Health Sciences IT Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Web Computing Specialist. This position will perform senior level end-user and server support for Web technologies, designing and developing new websites, maintaining existing websites, and data reporting for HSAS&F and for a variety of departments within the Health Sciences Complex.
Under minimal supervision, perform a variety of tasks associated with the support of web sites, data analysis, databases and related software. Web Site Projects:
Design, implement & test web sites per customer specifications and UW Brand Standards, Monitor the performance and security status of web sites & taking appropriate action. Design, implement & test web data recovery systems. Assist HS-ITS Manager with risk management, compliance and business continuity planning. Keeping up to date with the latest UW and W3C recommendations and policies and active participation in UW technology community. SharePoint maintenance, development, and training:
Create, customize and maintain SharePoint servers and websites. Design, implement, modify and maintain databases and related reports supporting SharePoint. Utilize API's to integrate operations between different systems. Train both internal and external customers on SharePoint and associated technologies. Web-based Business Systems, including Reporting Services:
Support mission critical applications including TMA (a computerized maintenance management system) and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Perform Preventative Maintenance for Web Sites:
Perform routine security checks on sites. Leveraging CISO, check for updates, audit plugins, themes, logs, and resource usage.
Cultivate positive working relationships with coworkers, management, customers, manufacturers, vendors and the general public.
Provide excellent customer service by actively listening to customer's concerns, effectively communicating options, respecting the customer's decisions and implementing them in a timely and cost effective manner.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required.

Stay current on emerging technologies by reading industry publications, attending seminars and classes, developing relationships with vendors and peers, evaluating software and products. Complete and close work orders in a timely manner to ensure compliance with customers PM requirements and insure prompt payment for services.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. * At least four (4) years' experience working in a customer service computer support environment. * Well-versed in designing maintainable, cutting-edge, elegant and accessible websites * Proficient using HTML, CSS, PHP * Experience with SharePoint administration. * Experience in designing content for SharePoint * Experience with multi-factor authentication systems * Experience with WordPress * Understanding current email technologies such as IMAP, POP and Exchange. * Proven ability to proficiently read, write and communicate in English. * Ability to handle confidential information responsibly. * Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when making decisions. * Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes technology. * General knowledge of the IT Industry and contemporary trends in this field. * Demonstrated ability to create clear and concise documentation for reference or training purposes. * Ability to interact with personnel of various levels of technical background * Ability to work with staff, senior management, and physicians * Responsible, organized and self-motivated to learn and excel * Experience showing initiative to identify and resolve problems * Ability to work independently as well as on a team * Ability to learn new technologies and applications quickly * Ability to lift 50 pounds * Employee should possess and demonstrate the following communication skills: * Proficiently read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English. * Follow written and verbal instructions and procedures. * Present a polite, professional image of the department to both internal and external customers.
