Responsible for the management of the Universityâ™s Payroll Office, serving all faculty, staff and students employed at Brown. Payroll Manager must coordinate and oversee the production of three distinct payrolls, and provide timely and accurate information to various federal and state government agencies and financial institutions. Payroll Manager must also have an understanding multi-state and multi-national payroll procedures.
Bachelorâ™s degree with concentration in accounting, finance or business management. Five or more years of closely related experience. Requires a thorough understanding of the payroll field. Requires experience in completing and filing IRS form 941, as well as other federal and state reports. Requires multi-state reporting experience. Knowledge of multi-national reporting desired.
Requires excellent customer relations skills, dealing with individuals in person and through telephone and written correspondence.
Requires an individual with a thorough working knowledge of payroll computing systems, including ability to analyze and detect errors. Experience with integrated systems such as Kronos, ADP, FAMIS, and Workday preferred.
Requires ability to work will in a team environment with participants from various fields including but not limited to: Human Resources, Employee Relations, Tax department and Computing and Information Services.
Requires ability to work well under pressure, with good organizational skills in order to meet critical deadlines.
Ability to analyze processes and clearly document office procedures.
