The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Illinois State University invites applications for a full time 9-month tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 16, 2018. Primary responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate instruction, scholarly research activities, mentoring student research projects, and department service. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience.
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders currently has 22 full-time academic and clinical faculty and over 200 undergraduate majors. The department's graduate programs enroll over 75 students in the master's degree program in speech language pathology, and about 30 students in the four year Audiology clinical doctorate program. Expertise in child language development and disorders and research doctorate in communication sciences and disorders or related area. A.B.D. will be considered with a completion date prior to the end of the first year following faculty appointment. Successful candidates will show strong evidence of research activity or potential. Aptitude for teaching and commitment to service are also necessary. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
