Senior Specialist in Academic Support and Coaching Services assists the Director in the facilitation of an academic support center providing direct services to 3, 000 visitors each academic year and managing the data collection process for the facility. The qualified candidate will help train and supervise a part-time staff of 40 student tutors and provide direct academic coaching to 700 Champlain College students annually. Coaching services require a proficiency in teaching strategies related to time management, organization, research and writing papers, metacognitive strategies, test-taking, and mindfulness. These services will be provided through 1:1 coaching sessions, residence hall presentations, study group, and workshop facilitation. Researching, creating, and presenting appropriate instructional materials is required as well as collecting data to assess the impact of our program and determine future needs to meet our department’s mission. Ability to foster collaboration with external groups in providing campus wide events is also an essential component of this role.
The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Education and/or coaching certifications. Higher education experience preferred.
