Champlain College is seeking an Associate Director to join our financial aid team. Champlain College is a private college located in Burlington, Vermont, overlooking Lake Champlain. Burlington has been consistently ranked as one of the country's best small cities according to a number of national surveys based on criteria such as healthfulness, lifestyle, economic potential, and raising a family.
The Associate Director provides direction and leadership for the day-to- day operations of the Office of Financial Aid in respect to the traditional undergraduate student population, with special emphasis on compliance with federal regulations, efficient use of technology, communications and customer service. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Financial Aid to implement financial aid policies, procedures, and initiatives which support the goals and objectives of the office and the College. The Associate Director is responsible for financial aid file review and awarding, counseling students and parents, staff training, and providing office management necessary for completion of special projects, assignments or routine responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be able to help build intercultural understanding and demonstrate multicultural perspectives that can foster a diverse and inclusive community. A minimum of a Bachelor’s. Master’s preferred.
Minimum of five years progressive experience in financial aid.
Proven knowledge of Title IV regulations and programs.
Strong technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience with federal processing systems, including COD, and knowledge of financial aid management systems is a must.
Datatel experience preferred.
Familiarity with document imaging and associated workflows a plus.
