This is a dual position for Radiology scheduling and diagnostic imaging coverage. Looking for candidate with at least 3 years imaging experience. Additional knowledge of CT/MRI/US modalities a plus. Candidate must be a fast learner with excellent computer skills and ability to work collaboratively with providers, nurses and radiologic technologists.
An Imaging Technologist utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, computer technology, basic patient care and assessment techniques, radiation physics and biology, radiation protection, and medical terminology to operate imaging equipment to produce quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by a Radiologist, and by performing the following duties.
Ability to access, manage and update patient medical records through Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System.
Accurately access patient medical records
Input physician's orders appropriately to patient's records
Review documentation for ongoing patient care
Communicate patient record with ancillary hospital services
Maintains patient confidentiality as outlined by privacy and HIPAA guidelines
Practices core competencies according to the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
Educates, interviews, screens and explains imaging and safety procedures to patients regarding the biological effects of radiation safety prior to beginning any imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
Positions patient on imaging table and utilizes immobilization devices as warranted for safety or to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by a Physician and following protocols developed by a Radiologist.
Administers contrast media orally or in intravenous administration according to Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines
Monitors patient during procedures either through direct contact, by the use of two-way voice communication or through control room window and/or closed circuit TV screen.
Practices universal safety precautions, radiation protection techniques and magnetic field education to minimize exposure to patient, self and staff.
Performs and provides evidence of ongoing quality assurance activities and collaborates and participates in quality review with others to evaluate the quality of care, performance and patient satisfaction.
Fiscally responsible for supply ordering according to established par and budget levels and the posting of correct procedure charges.
Participates in and ensures continuing education activities as supported and value-added to the current position are continually completed to maintain competency and quality of patient care.
Participates in facility Quality Improvement/IOP Program
Follows policies and procedures for infection control and facility safety in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Follows all applicable hospital policies and procedures as required.
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organizational mission and goals.
Follows Patients Rights Policy at all times.
Complete position specific competencies annually.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or other members of management.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's Degree or diploma from a two-year College or Technical School; or 6 months – 1 year related experience and/or training
