Job Description Build and lead a new firm-wide Non-Model Risk Management Governance Program (MRG) team reporting to the Corporate Operational Risk Key Indicator Program and Corporate Risk Model Risk Governance Program Leader. This role will serve as an advisor to Corporate Operational Risk's executive/senior management team and deliver governance and oversight for non-models at Wells Fargo. This position will establish the program, program policy and guidance, oversee the execution of NM QTM (Quantitative Tool or Methodology) independent validations, align closely with Corporate Model Risk, CCAR and End User Computing processes, interact with regulators and internal auditors, and drive compliance with the WF Non-Model QTM Policy and supporting standards. This leader and their team will deliver the program in support of the Wells Fargo and in support of key model non-model stakeholders.
The Operational Risk Group is responsible for independently overseeing the management of operational risk exposures (including monitoring and reporting on aggregate operational risk exposures across groups, legal entities, geographies and jurisdictions) and the quality of operational risk management practices across the company.
The Corporate Risk - Operational Risk Group Key Indicator Program and Model Risk Governance Program team focuses on two key areas: the development, execution and evolution of the WF Key Indicator Program and the oversight and governance of the Corporate Risk Model Inventory in support of the Corporate Risk Model Risk Officer, Mark D'Arcy.
Specific responsibilities include:
Lead the governance team supporting the WF NM QTM program; identify needs, develop appropriate priorities and roadmaps, provide direction, align talent and resources, and deliver on the end to end execution of WF Non Model Risk Management Governance Program oversight structure, including accountability structure, processes, core routines, controls, credible challenge, change management and communication.
Develop strong understanding of Model Risk Management policy, supporting standards, and related policies and standards (CFMO policies, CCAR, End User Computing Tools, COSO, Enterprise Information Technology, and G&O/Enterprise Data Governance Policies).
Develop Non-Model QTM templates and guidelines in alignment with existing model policies and templates.
Develop and enforce adherence to WF Non-Model Model Risk Management Policy, supporting standards, and related policies as appropriate.
Oversee the key risks and controls for the WF Non-Model Risk Management Governance program, document framework of controls and requirements ; perform compliance assessments as needed
Engage with interactions with WFAS and the regulators as appropriate
Support external regulatory exams that are focused on non-models; ensure related MRAs and MRIAs impacting the firm in this space are well managed and that remediation is completed and validated.
Engage in the Corporate Model Risk Committee and deliver timely updates and reporting to support the program.
Engage with COE leaders, Corporate Functional Model Oversight, 1 st LOD Model Risk Governance teams, model validators, and key stakeholder teams to ensure compliance with policy, and to partner across key initiatives and efforts to support non-model risk governance across the firm.
Develop materials for key meetings with the regulators, and other interactions with leadership
Partner with the analytics manager on the team to develop and deliver key reporting and metrics for the program
Aggregate and synthesize data to make insightful recommendations about non-model risk exposure to aid in decision making
Collaborate with peers across WF to help implement best practices and drive efficiency opportunities for non-model governance and oversight

10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
5+ years of management experience
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
