* This position is a Dual Unit position with responsibilities in C&W Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT and Pediatric Cancer Infusion clinic. The home unit will be # 315703 (Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT Clinic).
Duties: Provide patient focused quality care to pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant patients and families. Work as a nurse member of collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
The Infusion Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care including patient education and the management of chemotherapy administration to pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant, immune-hematologic disorder, and sickle cell anemia patient populations. The RN administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, chemotherapy and other treatments related to supportive care for this patient population.
The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care including patient education and the management of telephone triage in a clinical setting. The clinic nurse supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing surgical/diagnostic/therapeutic procedures; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers. The candidate must have demonstrated the following in his/her current position: Competent Performance Accountable for the management of patients assigned to the team. Utilizes critical thinking skills to recognize and solve patient problems. Utilizes the nursing process and nursing standards to prevent or manage actual/potential patient problems in the hematology/oncology setting. A current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan.
Two (2) or more years of recent pediatric RN experience.
Two (2) or more years of recent pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant RN experience.
Demonstrated ability to start peripheral IV access.
Demonstrated ability to practice independently, set goals, promote teamwork, cross cover within clinical area, coordinate and perform multiple activities and problem solve as measured by interview, references and performance evaluations.
Demonstrated leadership ability including initiative and creativity as evidenced by previous employment/reference.
Demonstrated ability to set and implement priorities, organize and delegate effectively and efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate well with others (including peers) as measured by interview, references and performance evaluations.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C, including B. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
