The Custodial Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining programs and processes related to quality control, quality assurance and training. The Specialist will create, implement and maintain programs and processes related to quality control and quality assurance by coordinating and conducting scheduled and unscheduled building inspections of all existing and new University spaces to ensure consistency of cleaning standards and service levels are being met throughout the custodial services division. Analyze and synthesize data generated from the QA initiatives and provide detailed reports on the outcomes and make recommendations to the Director of Custodial Services. Work with Managers/Supervisors to monitor QA audit performance indicators, develop improvement plans, and implement changes needed to continually improve service delivery. The Specialist will create, implement and maintain programs and processes related to custodial training by devising and implementing plans to improve performance outcomes and poor appearance levels by training. Solely responsible for the training schedule and follow up documentation of all custodial employees, including Custodians, Supervisors, CSAâ™s and Managers. The Specialist will serve as the department liaison for the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program. Working closely with the Facilities Management Service group, solicit input from client groups regarding building conditions using a variety of methods â“ meetings, surveys, etc. Communicate inspection results and plans to constituents. Provide forums for feedback and report information to senior Custodial Management. Create the means to store constituent information and follow up. Working with the Director of Custodial Services, this position will administer and develop the custodial piece of the FM website and other communications projects as assigned by the Director.
Requires a Bachelorâ™s degree and 3-5 yearsâ™ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a Valid Driverâ™s License. Must have strong knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures, equipment, tools and materials common to the custodial / janitorial profession, and strong knowledge of general industry safety practices and standards within the custodial profession; excellent customer oriented service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; careful but assertive approach to dealing with personnel matters, and dealing with conflict; skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals; skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities; knowledge of all Microsoftâ„¢ Office Software and ability to process time & attendance, and work order scheduling), proficiently; demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information and plan appropriate response; ability to create and deliver a training curriculum; ability to be flexible and work various shifts as training and inspection needs require; ability to foster a collaborative, team centered environment; excellent time management skills; excellent organizational, leadership and relationship building skills
