Serves as Digital Learning Strategist. Leads the systematic design, development, and management of Online and blended instruction. Guides and supports faculty in the process of constructing and improving Online and blended curriculum through the analysis of learning needs, creation of content, and application of effective course design practices. Performs other duties as assigned.
Course Development and Management: 50% - Essential Works with faculty to ensure learning strategies and delivery methods are consistent with desired course learning objectives and outcomes. Develops, formats, and revises instructional materials and assessments consistent with effective Online and blended delivery and presentation using universal design principles; and guides and supports the development, review, maintenance, and revision of Online course shells using those instructional materials. Participates in research and assessment aimed at enhancing on-site, Online, and blended learning environments.
Collaboration and Communication: 30% - Essential Collaborates with designated College contacts to ensure content creation is in accordance with course needs, project requirements, and best practices; communicates with subject matter experts, learning technology specialists, colleagues, and collaborators to ensure technical solutions are compatible with appropriate pedagogical approaches for learning. Communicates status updates regularly to supervisor and division about Online course development projects.
Accessibility and Compliance: 20% - Essential Eliminates accessibility barriers to increase student success; ensures compliance with recognized accessibility standards ; helps enforce copyright compliance; and helps ensure that all Online education design and development initiatives comply with policies of the University, the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and program/specialized accrediting agencies.
A master's degree in education or another directly related field and experience in curriculum development.
