Carilion Clinic-Virginia Tech Carilion (CC-VTC) Neurosurgery is looking to add an exceptional Spine Neurosurgeon to its rapidly growing team of 8 Neurosurgeons and 9 Advanced Care Practitioners (ACP's). We are an academic practice with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical neurosurgery. Based in the level one trauma center Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Virginia, our team provides neurosurgical coverage to over 1 million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Pathology is broad and plentiful and opportunities exist for the development of sub-specialty service lines. We run a highly successful Neurosurgery Residency Program. We are actively involved in the education of medical students at the Virginia Tech- Carilion School of Medicine (on our campus) and the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. We collaborate with researchers at The Virginia Tech- Carilion Institute of Research (on our campus) and the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience. Also, we are actively involved in undergraduate education with the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience.
Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Complex Spine with interest in research and education, and a desire to maintain broad-based clinical activities and skills as well as having a strong desire to be involved in resident and medical student education.
CC-VTC features more than 700 physicians at 240 practice sites, seven not-for-profit hospitals including Carilion Roanoke Memorial a 703 bed teaching/tertiary care center with Level 1 Trauma designation and three transport helicopters. The system is involved in an intensive collaboration with Virginia Tech to create a major biomedical and translational research destination site on the Roanoke campus. This includes the Virginia Tech Carilion School of medicine and The Virginia Tech Carilion Research institute (which is about to undergo a 66 million dollar expansion).
