Under the supervision of the FitLife Program Director, the Dietitian will serve as part of the department's wellness teams. The Dietitian will provide a full range of nutritional care duties which may include taking diet histories, patient interviews, assessing the nutritional status of individuals (including athletes), assisting in nutritional goal setting, developing meal plans and advising on lifestyle changes. The dietitian will provide nutritional education to individuals and groups, and serve as a resource and expert in the field of nutrition to appropriate staff (RAs, trainers, coaches, etc.), and the general campus community. Provide the nutritional education component of the FitLIfe Wellness class series including but not limited to student wellness, workstrong program, personal athlete, and weight loss solutions.
Willingness to travel between multiple work sites. Must have access to reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Bachelors degree in related field from an accredited university. California Registered Dietitian.
Ability to perform nutritional and physical activity consultations in person and/or over the phone.
Skill to interpret trends, define problems, conceptualize solutions and convert into practical applications.
Demonstrated knowledge in developing modified diets.
Ability to assess nutritional histories.
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on professionalism. Ability to relate effectively and sensitively to diverse, multi-cultural population. Skill in working in a team setting, fostering cooperation and support from other staff.
Experience and success in public speaking and presentations to a wide range of audiences in a collegiate setting.
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
Experience and training in sports nutrition.
Experience in a college setting.

Must hold the equivalent of a Bachelors degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics and have completed an American Dietetic Association internship.
Possess current registration with the American Dietetic Association (RD certificate required).
