The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Medicine has laboratory and clinical research programs aimed at improving health through advanced understanding of lung biology and improved management of respiratory diseases. The pulmonary immunology laboratories at Harborview Medical Center are focused on host-pathogen interactions that mediate the activation of innate and adaptive immune responses to infection in the lungs.
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Research Study Coordinator 2. Working under the general direction of the principal investigator, the Research Study Coordinator 2 will be responsible for direct coordination of clinical research operations - the principal investigator's research portfolio maintains up to six active clinical research studies concurrently.
Working with the Principal Investigator, identify specific aims of funded research and contribute to the development and implementation of protocols to conduct research aligned with these aims. Understand and apply existing protocols. Work with the Principal Investigator to identify potential barriers to participation, implement mitigation plans, ensure timely achievement of recruitment milestones from targeted patient populations.
Review clinical processes involved in protocols, determine feasibility, identify resources to complete study steps and negotiate availability of equipment and space with clinical managers.
Analyze clinical records and patient history information to confirm sufficient availability of targeted patient population and further elucidate eligibility for participation in specific clinical research studies through the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Conduct patient education and participant orientations - obtain informed consent for participation,
Maintain accurate study logs, update REDCAP, study and collaborator databases using multiple reporting platforms, perform data assessments and analysis for subsequent use in publications and sponsor reports.
Work with Human Subjects Division to submit and renew IRB applications. Modify IRB applications to reflect updated study designs, goals and work scopes. Ensure ongoing review of IRB materials to ensure compliance with currently funded awards.
Work with CRBB to ensure compliance and accuracy of billing for hospital based procedures.
Communicate with providers and other enrollment sites about study progress and milestone reporting, submit participant results and address compliance topics.
Conduct study procedures in adherence to established protocols and medical center requirements.

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Coordinator OR equivalent education/experience.
Phlebotomy certification, familiarity with RedCAP system
