The newly implemented Integrated Service Center (ISC) will support the University's faculty, staff and student workers by serving as a first point of contact for designated HR and Payroll inquiries and by processing a limited scope of centralized Human Capital Management (HCM) transactions (i.e., within the HR, Benefits and Payroll domains). The hallmarks of the ISC will be in delivering services that are timely, accurate and highly attuned to the fast-paced university environment.
The Senior Application Analyst for Time & Absence will support Tier 3 Application Management functions for the Time and Absence modules in Workday HCM, a cloud-based human resource management software system. Workday Time & Absence capabilities encompass time tracking, time off and employee leave processes. More specific responsibilities will include coordinating with other ISC team members to analyze/troubleshoot complex system issues, supporting the configuration and implementation changes to the Workday application, participating in testing/ validation of functionality changes, supporting the development of Workday domain area training material, and acting in a functional ownership capacity for designated time and absence reports and integrations. In performing these duties, the incumbent will analyze business problems and processes to identify functional and non-functional solutions supporting the time and absence needs of the University.
As a contributor to the Payroll Application Support team, the Senior Application Analyst for Time & Absence will serve as a subject matter expert within the Workday Time& Absence domain to ensure design, development, configuration, testing and launch of specific features are complete and functional, both independently and in coordination with all other dependent Workday features. Further, this position is responsible for ensuring all dependent integrations, reports and other business needs are consistently maintained and accounted for as continual changes are made to the Workday system. This role will require extensive insight into time/absence business process and technical considerations and encompass cognizance of relevant compliance/regulatory standards and associated audit/control reporting.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science or related area.
Four years experience working in the time and/or absence domains
Experience working with HR/P systems configuration and maintenance
In-depth knowledge of time, absence and related payroll business processes.
Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities
Experience analyzing complex HR/P processes and configuring associated enabling functionality
Ability to communicate clearly, in writing and in verbal presentations, to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to create and assimilate business process documentation
Extensive experience interacting with customers, including resolution of complex inquiries and efficient performance during high-volume timeframes
Experience supporting system testing and/or data validation activities
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Science, Computer Science, or related field
Experience with Workday time absence module
Experience playing an individual contributor role within a shared services environment
Working experience executing relevant business processes at the University of Washington or in a comparable higher education environment
Experience in the use of customer support infrastructure tools, including a case management system, knowledge base and associated reporting tools

Work in an open office environment and contribute to collaborative team work focused on problem-solving. Daily interactions with other team members, subject matter experts and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. While the general working hours are within Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., the Knowledge Management Specialist will, on occasion, need to adjust hours to accommodate the business needs and deadlines.
This position is funded tough June 30, 2018, continued employment is dependent on funding and performance.
