The Division of Student Life at West Virginia University is seeking applications for an Operations Coordinator. This position coordinates and implements programs and activities that relate to civic engagement and community service with a focus on student development for the Center for Service and Learning.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Coordinate various AmeriCorps grants with state agencies, and manage logistics and implementation of grants awarded to the Center for Service and Learning.
Assist developing new grants for service with the Assistant Director and Director of the CSL.
Research national models of civic engagement and maintain current knowledge on higher education service trends.
Plan and execute service activities on behalf of the CSL.
Manage and recruit volunteers for University service events
Assess volunteer service outcomes and integrate service into the University culture.
Coordinate all social media sites, design graphics, and update the CSL website.
Coordinate the Million Hour Match by supporting new service opportunities and working with the IServe coordinator to track and record WVU service hours.
Prepare reports on collected data for the CSL Director.
Search and apply for awards and recognition for WVU service and CSL service projects, and coordinate the submission of national awards on volunteerism and service.
Work Hours: Typical University business hours, with some evening and weekend hours as needed
Bachelor's degree in a field related is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Two (2) years of experience in any of the following:
Service experience, including working with or in a group
Program development, implementations, and evaluation
Writing, research, and analysis related to projects including grants
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of computer operations, utilizing various Windows-based software packages, such as Word, Excel, and Access.
Demonstrated knowledge of social media as a tool
