FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTNew York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college of 17,000 students in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level to begin during the 2017-2018 academic year.The Department of Hospitality Management is recognized internationally as the premier hospitality management program of the City University of New York. The department is accredited by ACPHA and offers both associate and bachelor's degrees.The candidate should have a history of significant culinary arts experience. In addition to teaching, this position offers an opportunity to develop curriculum and programs in a dynamic and highly regarded department with strong links to industry.Duties include: * Teach courses in the diverse segments of the Department of Hospitality Management curriculum including, but not limited to: culinary arts, international cuisine, garde manger, vegetarian cuisine, food and beverage management, food and beverage cost control, and/or sanitation. * Engage in program development, recruitment, and student advisement. Committee participation is expected, as well as other department, college, university and/or community projects. * Day, evening, and weekend curriculum and department duties may be required. * Continued professional growth and scholarly contributions to the field are expected.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum qualifications are a Master's Degree with at least 5 years of post-degree employment in culinary arts. Current ServSafe certification or NYC Department of Health Food Handler certification required.
