POSITION DETAILSThe State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center, provides tuition free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, providing a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency.Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Career Resources Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of career and professional development opportunities to prepare EOC students to enter the workforce. Responsibilities include managing the assessment and outcomes of career advisement, internships and job placement activities for all students. The Manager will manage relationships with students, alumni and employers and may also serve as the chief student services officer in the absence of the Director.In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the duties of the position include but are not limited to the following: * Oversee the daily operations of the office. Supervise and evaluate professional and administrative staff * Manage the implementation of career readiness and professional development strategies for students * Collaborate with faculty and administration to develop and implement career planning for all students * Develop new employer relationships and opportunities for collaboration. * Lead and direct staff in increasing the number of internship and placement sites * Engage students in creative and innovate ways to prepare them for their career pathways * Manage data collection, analysis and reporting on student outcomes and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements * Manage outreach to alumni, engaging them in programs and events * Participate in inter-departmental programs to promote and increase student success and retention * Assist in managing the utilization of technology to engage students and employers. * Assist in developing materials to promote student success storiesFlexible schedule - day and evening hoursQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS * Master's degree in education, human resources, human services or related field preferred * Previous experience as a recruiter, HR specialist, job developer or career or internship coordinator * Proficiency using web based resources and social media to communicate with students * Demonstrated knowledge of assessment methods and use of data in planning * Experience in creating alumni networks * Proficiency in MS Office required * Knowledge of Banner student information system a plusCUNY TITLE OVERVIEWManages the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of student-related programs at an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). * Oversees a variety of student programs for the EOC, such as community outreach, orientation, admissions, testing, registration, student activities, and job placement * Assists senior management in analyzing student needs and developing student service plans, implementing initiatives and assessing performance * Develops relationships with college departments, university groups and outside agencies and community organizations to support and enhance student services * Collects, analyzes and reports on student program activities, participation, and outcomes * May supervise professional and/or clerical staff * Performs related duties as assignedCUNY TITLEHigher Education AssociateFLSAExemptCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS$61,394 to $75,110; Commensurate with qualifications and experience.CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
