Now is your time to do your life's best work.(sm) As part of the Enterprise Research and Development (ERD) team, this Sr. Innovation Project Manager shares the UnitedHealth Group vision for a more transformational and efficient health system. To support this vision, the Sr. Innovation Project Manager-s role has the function to support research and development projects that work to improve the health care system and contribute to the broader national conversation on making high quality health care more affordable and accessible. As a Sr. Project Manager, he/she is responsible for documenting the ideation of potential research and development projects, generating broad-based support and then implementing the project to meet both short-term delivery goals and long-term business goals. Primary Responsibilities:Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document) Identify project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectivesDrive/participate in the capital request process, as appropriate (e.g., presentations, cost-benefit analysis, business case)Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standardsDevelop, communicate and implement program and project risk, issue management plans and strategies Develop and implement contingency and recovery plans when deliverables are missed (e.g., identify critical path, document, plan for getting back on plan schedule, Business Continuity Plan, failover planning)
Required Qualifications:BA/BS degree and/or equivalent education and experience.Minimum of 5 years hands-on project management experienceIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Visio, Project, OneNote, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)20%- 50% travel will be the most typical but a willingness to travel up to 75% for specific projectsUnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
