WE is seeking an individual to fill the position of part-time (20 hours per week) Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant. This individual is an integral member of the Administrative Team and reports to the Director of Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Review all invoices for proper documentation/approvals and record in FundEZ. Generate and distribute checks on a bi-weekly basis.
Assist with monthly general journal entries.
Assist with preparation of the annual tax reports for vendors (1098, 1099’s).
Process and record grant payments, checks and credit card payments as received. Prepare and take weekly deposits to bank.
Assist with annual fundraising event including recording cash and credit card income.
Assist with monthly development department reconciliations.
Other Accounting Functions:
Prepare and record payroll journal entries.
Track vacation and sick leave.
Assist with preparation for the annual audit.
Monitor supply levels and reorder as necessary.
Sort, distribute and process incoming/outgoing mail.
Schedule is negotiable and hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.
The ideal candidate will possess: Two to four years of experience as a bookkeeper (associate’s degree in accounting a plus); working knowledge of Fund-EZ or similar accounting software; ability to take initiative and meet all deadlines; strong interpersonal skills; ability to accurately perform detail work involving numerical data; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); commitment to confidentiality requirements of the position. Regular travel and a vehicle are not required for this position.

Additional Salary Information: $18 - $20 per hour based on experience
