Duties/Responsibilities • Interact with senior researchers and other technical team members to analyze source system data to understand the data structure and definitions. • Extract and deliver genomics data using industry best practices for security and efficiency. • Support existing applications and databases and serve as a resource for customer questions and problem resolution. • Interact with users to get requirements, do user acceptance testing and delivering complete and accurate solutions. • Elicit, document, and analyze data needs and requirements. Analyze data and reporting solutions to understand business impact, correlations/discrepancies, and to propose changes/alternate solutions. • Create scripts for importing, exporting, analyzing, mapping and converting data

Required Qualifications: • A BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics or a related field and 1 year of experience in the areas of application/web/systems development or a combination of education and work to equal 5 years • Experience with biological sciences and genomics databases • Strong experience with Genome library analysis using search engines. • Experience working FASTA and CSV files • Strong experience with genomics data analysis using R • Strong experience with determining gene expression variation against controls. • Strong technical experience with SQL, PHP, and database structures. • Experience working at a research environment • Excellent communication and analytical skills • Experience with Clinical Data in research environment or a clinical setting. • Experience with MS office suite including MS Access
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with genomics data management and analysis Ability to analyze information and provide feedback and improvement suggestions • Ability to work with senior researchers to learn and adapt advanced genomics data analytics methods and technologies. • Ability to communicate effectively via email transmission by utilizing proper grammar and punctuation skills. • Ability to work on posters and publications for genomics and Bioinformatics work. • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with co-workers and peers. • Ability to adhere to the highest ethical standards including honesty, integrity, dedication and leadership. • Willing to learn legacy applications in use even though not developed in language of choice. • Experience within a healthcare database/data warehouse setting. • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to analyze technical information and work with the team; • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills; • Multi-tasking capabilities to prioritize assignments and work under limited supervision; ability to deliver complete results.
