Ramapo College of New Jersey is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science, with a starting date of September 2018. The College is seeking candidates with a dedication to teaching the undergraduate computer science curriculum at all levels and a demonstrable potential to foster undergraduate research. Candidates with expertise in all fields of Computer Science are welcome to apply.
The successful candidate will:
Teach introductory and upper level courses related to Computer Science;
Prepare & deliver lectures serving major, school core & college-wide General Education requirements;
Stimulate class discussions; create course curricula, compile, administer and grade exams;
Conduct research initiatives & publish findings in professional journals;
Liaison w/staff, faculty & administration.
Ramapo College faculty instructional schedule consists of six courses per academic year, which include day and/or evening classes.
Faculty assignments also include academic advisement, committee work, unit meetings, education and professional development, supervision of student field work, and other related duties. Faculty members are expected support the mission of the College and actively participate in College-wide events, such as Commencement, Opening Convocation, State of the College Address and Founders' Day.
All candidates must have (or expect to receive by September 2018) a PhD in Computer Science or closely related field.
