Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for day to day functions of CDO, which handles the clerical portion of the Clinical denials process for 13 hospitals Proactively reviews work lists, staff activity, productivity and time and attendance Notifies Senior Leadership of potential systemic issues and high risk / high exposure situations. Recommends solutions for resolving issues .Recommends changes to departmental procedures, i.e., job aides, training resources, and work flow, to promote process improvement Mentors and develops skills of direct reports Maintains attendance, payroll records and processing of time-off requests Maintains payer grids with appeal timeframes and payer address to ensure deadlines are met and appeals are submitted to the correct address Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates staff Runs reports to ensure cases are appealed in a timely fashion Communicates with other departments within the organization such as HIM, support services and Patient Accounts Collects data to identify payer trends and issues Responsible for ordering supplies and insuring that inventory of tools needed to perform daily job functions are available
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 2 or more years of experience in patient accounting, insurance verification and / or patient access Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Must be able to work weekends and holidays Preferred Qualifications:1 or more years of supervisory experience in a healthcare or business office setting Bachelors degree or higherCareers with Optum.
