UC Davis Health is one of several UC campuses that have their own cogeneration, central power plants. Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, both of which are used throughout the Medical Center Campus. The PO&M Co-Gen Operators have primary responsibility for the operations, of gas turbine generator, steam turbine generator, emergency diesel generators, electrical switchgear, heat recovery steam generator, packaged steam boilers, deaerator heater/tank assembly, steam absorption chillers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers and condensers, reverse osmosis water treatment system.REQUIRED--Operation and maintenance experience with, but not limited to, gas turbine generator, steam turbine generator, electrical switchgear, steam boiler operations, diesel generator, absorption chillers, centrifugal chillers and cooling.--Experience monitoring and performing operational adjustments and service alarms on a Bailey Infi 90 (distributed control system, a Johnson Metasys energy management system).--Demonstrate proficiency in operation and casualty control actions toprevent/minimize damage to all plant systems and equipment.--Operate, maintain, and repair all equipment associated with the central plant.PREFERRED --Experience with LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out).--Experience with reverse osmosis water treatment system.--Operation experience with air compressors, air dryer, fans and air handler operations.--Skills to manage programs and maintain files, records, and logs.--Knowledge of commonly accepted industry operation/maintenance practices and University policies and procedures.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS--Work scheduled/unscheduled overtime (during weekends, holidays, and off-shift periods and be accessible by telephone).--Physical stamina to work in inclement weather (hot/cold) conditions, confined spaces, from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, etc.--Climb a vertical ladder to the height of approximately 50 feet. --THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
