Lincoln Land Community College is currently accepting applications for an experienced Network Administrator. This full-time position will report to the Director-Systems and IT Infrastructure and be responsible for designing, installing, configuring and maintaining the LLCC network, including local area network and wide area network equipment.
Essential job functions include the following:
Identify user, departmental and enterprise needs concerning computer networking.
Design network infrastructure and capacity planning for the main campus, regional sites and WAN connections.
Troubleshoot network-related problems including working with internet service providers, telecommunications companies and outside consultants.
Acquire, configure and maintain network equipment including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Document device configuration and changes in the network topology and network devices setup.
Install and maintain videoconferencing system components.
Work closely with other IT staff to communicate project developments and smooth transitions in the network.
Take measures to protect the network by means of data backups, security procedures and disaster recovery techniques.
Assist with server maintenance and configurations.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Keep current with emerging technologies as they may apply to the needs of LLCC faculty, administration and staff members.
Work with vendors and planners to stay current with the newest equipment and specifications.
