The Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking (CLST) at the Michael G. Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity for a Continuing Education specialist. The Center for Leadership & Strategic Thinking is in engaged in applied field research designing and delivering leadership, strategic thinking, change management and team-building interventions in real-world settings (i.e., not in a laboratory) and collecting data about the effectiveness of these developmental interventions.
The Continuing Education Specialist will support the mission of the CLST by providing curriculum development and delivery of training and facilitation and coaching within the CLST intervention programs.
Instruction and training: * Deliver CLST leadership development content in workshops, webinars, and coaching individuals or groups. While some of the training occurs locally, travel is required for some engagements. * Learn and be the subject matter expert of all CLST models, methods, measures and frameworks to successfully accomplish their work. * Deliver CLST content effectively to a broad range of groups in terms of experience and organizational level, both independently as part of a facilitator team. Participants in CLST Leadership Development activities range from first line supervisors/project leads to executives. * Adapt their delivery to meet the needs of the group with which they are working. * Facilitate peer groups and may deliver 1:1 development and team facilitation.
Curriculum Development: * Oversee development of new curricula and revisions of existing training materials. * Develop, create and deliver additional content to the Leadership Development curriculum and programs as needed.
Program Administration: * Be involved in program administration activities such as being the project lead, program planning, budget monitoring, resource planning and participating in evaluation of programs. Master's Degree in OD, I/O Psychology, Business or other related fields
Required Qualifications: 2-3 years of work experience Master's Degree or equivalent experience in the field of training and development. This could include degrees in OD, I/O Psychology or Masters in Other related fields.
Demonstrated effectiveness in providing training and facilitation to adult learners at first line to more senior organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to incorporate and apply research to informing one's training, evaluation and coaching practice
Ability to travel regionally and nationally to deliver workshops
Ability and comfort to work virtually with clients either individually in terms of coaching, as well as working virtually to support projects or to engage in hybrid programs that include both face to face as well as on line interactions with clients.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, readiness to work directly with internal and external clients.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment including the ability to collaborate to provide polished and professional deliverables to clients
Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of theory related to the field of leadership, individual, team and organizational development. Leadership theories include: transformational, transactional, and authentic leadership styles. In addition, we place a high priority in understanding the theory that informs how developmentally ready clients are to engage in change. We are also looking for individuals that have knowledge and experience working in the areas of , strategic thinking, inquiry-based coaching, and team dynamics.
Experience working with in leadership development as a coach and/or trainer and facilitator
Experience working with wide range of developing leaders from individual contributors to C-suite executives
Knowledge of the principles and theory of adult learning
Demonstrated success providing facilitation and training using materials developed by others, as well as working on developing original training materials that are based on our Center's models, methods and measures.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
Desired: Experience with e-learning software and experience developing and supporting training in electronic formats
Experience designing curricula for workshops and training
