The Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Biostatistician.
The Biostatistician works under the direction of senior staff to create de-identified public-use data-sets for clinical trials.gov and federal sponsors. Following rules provided by NIH, the biostatistician will create a de-identification plan that lists which variables will be included while providing a reason for exclusion of other variables. The biostatisitician will create data sets in an appropriate statistical package; code should be well documented and usable by others. In addition, the biostatistician would create other necessary files (e.g. - data dictionary and annotated forms) for inclusion with the datasets. In addition, the biostatistician will use statistical software to create visual displays of complex data sets.
Facilitate development of a de-identification plans
Create de-identified datasets in appropriate statistical language
Acquire working knowledge in the area of data analysis for clinical trials and apply in support of manuscript development
Create data dictionaries, annotated forms and other required materials.

Bachelor's degree in statistics, math, or related field
Experience: at least 3 months or up to 1 year performing the required activities
Statistical programming experience with R, S-Plus, SAS or STATA.
Attention to detail and ability to think independently
Highly proficient in excel, creating spreadsheets and visual data displays
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
