We are now hiring for a full-time Creative Manager to join our General Office Team!
The Creative Manager is a member of the agency’s Communications/External Affairs team, and will be responsible for developing and proactively managing Metropolitan’s print/collateral materials, overseeing agency branding, developing graphics and communications for online communications (social, web and ecommunications, working with the Digital Marketing & PR Specialist), and serving as a photographer for agency activities/events.
Candidates for this position should have strong creative and management skills and solid proofing/writing abilities, as well as the interpersonal ability to work with internal and external stakeholders/audiences. The position will report to the Senior Director of Communications.
Strong proven experience in print and online design communications
Oversees all aspects of creative management and production for agency's numerous wide-ranging print and web-collateral
Strong branding experiences/ability to manage brand consistency across agency communications
Solid experience in emarketing, efundraising, and online communications
High proficiency in design programs including Adobe Creative Suite
Experience in managing database coordination (front end-design and back-end list management) impacting CMS systems used for communications and fundraising initiatives
Strong project and time management skills and the ability to consistently meet multiple deadlines
Management of Communication Coordinator for projects including social media, general online communications and supplementary design support
Solid experience managing project billing (production/marketing), working with Senior Director of Marketing and Communications
Ability to effectively manage relationships with vendors to secure best quality and most cost-efficient products
Have strong interpersonal,written, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build cooperative, effective relationships with diverse internal and external audiences
Develop creative and strategic solutions for a variety of online and print projects such as websites, mobile, social media, eblasts, ads, logos, annual reports, displays/presentations, storyboards and mobile apps
Manage and execute design requests for the overall agency, including the External Affairs team and its fundraising and communications initiatives and events
Ensure brand consistency across agency communications and maintain the agency’s brand style guide, including logos, product branding, typography and photography
Manage relationships with vendors to ensure best quality and cost efficiency/staying within budget
Ensure accuracy of projects (providing diligent proofreading) and ensure printing accuracy
Serve as support for Digital Marketing & PR Specialist in developing/posting/scheduling information for agency’s website, social media platforms and eblasts, as well as developing, deploying and tracking effectiveness of digital and social media advertising/marketing campaigns
An effective team player who is also self-motivated
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or visual communications
5–7 years of experience as a Senior Graphic Designer, with 3-5 years design experience focused on digital design
Strong technical skills, including Adobe (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), HTML, CSS, and Content Management Systems (i.e., WordPress) as well as email services (Metropolitan uses Salsa Labs/Salsa Engage)
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Exceptional typography skills
Video production/editing experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Quick to learn and apply new technologies
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously – must be able to handle unexpected deadlines
Enjoys being part of a team, but is also self-sufficient and motivated to work autonomously
Must have access to own transportation for off-site projects/events
Must be able to periodically work evenings/weekends (i.e., special events)
