What you will do:
In this newly created position, you as the Associate Director of Cornell Abroad will serve as a member of the office's leadership team where you will advise the Director and provide recommendations on key issues and strategic initiatives. The goal of this position is to develop and shape effective business and administrative operations of Cornell Abroad. This will be done by serving as a liaison between the office and academic units across campus to create and maintain solid relationships. Additionally:
Working directly with and under supervision of the Director, she/he will develop and implement strategies and direction for Cornell Abroad's global education footprint, and administrative and business operations.
Provide oversight and direction of the day-to-day operations in the areas of administration, application and admission process management, data management and reporting, facilities, finance and budget, human resources, information technology, policy development, program administration, travel safety, as well as marketing, communications, and public relations efforts
Function as chief business officer; overseeing the development of the annual budget, financial projections and strategies
Work in partnership with the OVPIA, University Finance Service Center and central Human Resources to ensure that operations are structured to meet departmental needs.
Lead a small team of operations staff members

Bachelor's Degree with 5 -7 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education
Experience in office and budget management
Significant experience in program development and management, preferably in the study abroad field
Ability to address stressful situations using tact and diplomacy; proven experience in crisis management
Ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail; proven ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators, domestic and international partners in an appropriate, timely and accurate manner
