Part Time; Contract Starting Salary Range: $19.54 to $23.23/hourly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Admissions -- Evaluations & Advising Services, the incumbent is responsible for the evaluation of academic records from individuals applying for undergraduate admission to the University of California, as well as from continuing UC Santa Cruz students. The incumbent analyzes and applies a wide variety of policies and procedures to determine an applicant's eligibility to the University of California and also determines if an applicant has met the UC Santa Cruz selection criteria to be admitted to the campus. The incumbent is responsible for counseling, advising, and evaluation of international student records.
The Office of Admissions at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), is dedicated to providing service to prospective, new, and continuing students pursuing an undergraduate education. In carrying out our mission, we promote the campus and its programs to prospective students and their representatives, as well as the public at large; we admit and enroll students that reflect the values and commitment of the campus faculty and administration, and we ensure those students a smooth transition to the start of their academic careers at UCSC; we assist continuing UCSC students in the timely completion of their degrees.
Multiple positions are available. This is a home office based position that requires occasional travel to campus.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must possess a valid driver's license to drive in the state of California.
Ability to work variable hours including evenings and weekends out of a home office, and participate in occasional campus meetings in person.
Must provide own transportation.
Must provide own computer, internet access and any other office equipment required to complete the duties of the position.
Must comply with all UC, UCSC, and Office of Admissions policies and procedures, such as travel and entertainment.
Per the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), this position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter.
Bachelor's degree in related area and or equivalent experience/training.
Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public.
Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges / universities and specifically at UC, and/or specific colleges and schools.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.
