University of Maryland, Baltimore is currently seeking a Research Study Coordinator to work in Division of Vascular Surgery. Under supervision, the position will be responsible for oversight and coordination of multiple research protocols within the division of Vascular Surgery. Will serve as the direct point of contact for sponsors, research staff, study participants, and clinical support personnel. Will conduct and adhere to applicable regulations, good clinical practices, and ensure study protocols compliance.
**This is a FULL-TIME, CONTRACTUAL position**

PRIMARY DUTIES 1. Assists in identifying and recruiting study participants to in clinical drug trials or other research studies. 2. Explains study objectives, risks, and benefits with potential study participants to assist them in making decision regarding their participation. 3. Elicits a complete medical history and conducts physical assessments such as taking vital signs. 4. Implements research protocol including study drug, therapy, and/or invasive procedures. Routinely monitors participants to ensure that medications are being taken in accordance with research protocol. 5. Observes physical and emotional reactions to medications and/or treatments. Reports irregularities and adverse effects to appropriate medical personnel. 6. Completes case report forms and other records documenting activities such as treatments and medications received. 7. Facilitates clinic process by scheduling and following appointments; overseeing patient flow; preparing patients for procedures; preparing examination and treatment rooms; and maintaining clinic supplies. 8. Assists with planning, organizing, and implementing community special events and informational materials to educate and encourage participation in research study.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Four years directly related experience in a medical/research setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, meticulous and accurate, completes tasks on-time, good interpersonal skills, ability to work with others, ability to handle multiple tasks and manage workload based on project timelines and priorities. Capable of interacting pleasantly and positively with others to meet expectations, and provide follow up.
Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are not eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union).
Salary Range: $38,204 - $40,000
