Faculty Position in Micro and Nanoscale Engineering, Cornell University
The Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Microscale and Nanoscale Engineering. Candidates must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field and are expected to establish an outstanding, funded research program as well as to contribute fully to both undergraduate and graduate instruction. Applicants at the level of Assistant Professor are preferred but appointments at other levels will also be considered. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
We seek outstanding individuals engaged in experimental, computational and/or theoretical research in micro- and nanoscale engineering. Qualified candidates in all areas of micro- and nano-scale engineering are encouraged to apply, particularly those whose research aligns with the College of Engineering’s strategic areas which are described in our website - https://www.engineering.cornell.edu/research/. Specific application areas within these areas include: energy, environmental, advanced materials, MEMS, advanced electronics and photonics, integrated sensor systems, microscale robotics, and biomedical and healthcare related technologies.

World class nanofabrication and characterization facilities including the Cornell Nanoscale Science and Technology Facility (CNF) are located in at the heart of the engineering campus. Cornell fosters interdisciplinary research and an atmosphere of interdisciplinary collaborations through its Centers and Field system and multidisciplinary centers such as the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future. Cornell also offers opportunities for entrepreneurship and commercialization of technologies developed by faculty through the Cornell Center for Technology Licensing and local incubators such as the McGovern Center for Venture Development.
