As an AIX Administrator, you would work with a variety of individuals that may include business users, internal and external customers, application developers, QA, project leaders and others with a primary focus on large-scale systems, applications, databases and reports leveraging multiple tools, processes, and technologies.Primary contribution involves being responsible for IT Infrastructure of Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses' comprising of high end technology, wherein the accountability will include 24x7 running of Unix servers, consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value. The domain accountability includes UNIX (Primary AIX and Secondary Linux) Server Administration.Primary Responsibilities:Maintenance and support of current internal reporting/forecasting toolsGathering business requirementsDesign, develop, and test applications used internally by peers and externally to IT leadersProvide technical support for non-programming staffPlan and manage assignments of varying scopeEstablish new and drive current business processesCollaborate with team members to implement strategies to streamline current system processes Automation and optimization of existing and prospective IT environment through scripting [Shell / Perl]Troubleshooting on virtual servers [ knowledge of vSphere /Virtual Center preferred] for AIX [LPAR & VIO]Periodic Quality Assurance/Server Hardening exercises for newly built serversParticipate in On-Call and NOC duties on periodic basisUser Administration and Account Management [LDAP and NIS]Involvement in periodic activities as Rapid Recovery [RR], Hardware & Firmware upgrade, OS Patching, etc.
