The ILR Student Services Office is seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant to join our service oriented team. The position will perform a wide range of administrative support activities including greeting students, faculty and staff to the office, assist with all aspects of official student data management, assist in drafting communications, maintain and manage electronic calendars, screen incoming calls and make appointments. Assist with logistical details for various events that are sponsored by the office.
This is a temporary 3 month, 39 hours per week, appointment with possibility of extension.
Associate's Degree and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in an office setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess outstanding communication skills, in order to communicate verbally and in writing, with diplomacy and tact, with students, faculty, and staff.
Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and global locations.
Demonstrated service orientation that will contribute to outstanding customer service and a positive and productive team environment.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in order to manage highly sensitive and confidential materials and communications.
Possess excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple projects/assignments, work under pressure and meet established deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment including analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong attention to detail that will enable focus on logistic details in order to plan, organize and coordinate multiple projects, manage events and special assignments.
Prior experience with calendar management (Outlook).
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft suite including: Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Prior experience in a student focused environment
Experience in higher education.
