Provide advice and guidance on lead regulatory requirements to ensure regulatory control framework is fit for purpose within Global Functions (for example Finance, Risk, HR, Treasury, Corporate Affairs). Improve regulatory risk management to ensure that issues are identified and mitigation is put in place early. Review of the Operational Risk Fail points which are owned by Compliance; this includes Gross risks and Residual Risks based on the controls evidenced.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Advising on the application of relevant PRA/FCA key regulatory requirements as relevant to the Global Functions.
Providing on-going support in understanding European regulations.
Reviewing and assessing impact of new FCA/PRA regulations as relevant to the Global Functions.
Responsible for leading the delivery of specific areas within the Compliance/Global Function work-plan.
Responsibility for oversight and co-ordination of the Compliance Risk Assessment for the Global Functions.
Undertaking regular risk reviews of the functions against agreed key risk factors. Providing Compliance training for Global Functions as required.
Providing expertise to the Compliance Monitoring teams to ensure that they understand the structure of the Global Functions to help them appropriately scope reviews.
Provide advice on ongoing and ad-hoc regulatory projects.
Responsible for ensuring that the Global Functions get regular Compliance MI.
Qualifications and Skills
Understanding of UK and European regulation and the PRA/FCA regulatory framework.
Understanding of the Group's organisational structure and internal procedures.
Excellent and proven oral and written communication skills - ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
Networker. Comfortable dealing with senior managers across different countries and cultures. Tactful and discreet, confidentiality a must.
Excellent organisation skills, with ability to multi-task. Prioritises activities/projects according to business need - puts in effort to ensure activities completed on schedule and to high quality required.
Enjoys working in a fast paced, sometimes demanding environment.
Pays attention to detail.
Proactive and creative approach to work, self motivated and pragmatic. Takes responsibility and accountability for own tasks.
