This position ensures compliance with US Department of Education guidelines regarding Annual Performance Report by developing and implementing a database for all program participation data. This position develops and maintains a relational database, gathers and compiles data in accordance with grant plans and procedures. Requires the use and knowledge of relational databases, IT security, spreadsheets and statistical software. This position works closely with staff at partner schools to obtain data, provide performance feedback reports and provide training on use of database and data entry.
- Develop and maintain relational database to analyze and store program data from 13 school districts - Using data provided from 13 school districts, standardize the data, resolve discrepancies and import data into database on a weekly basis - Monitor receipt and accuracy of data from 13 school districts, working with director and administrative staff to resolve problems - Modify database as required by program changes, federal regulation changes, and administrative report requirements - Develop reports for annual performance report according to US Department of Education rules and regulations - Train school district staff to upload data, enter data and retrieve reports - Develop online and paper survey instruments to be used to gather data from students, parents and teachers - Prepare tables, charts, graphs and statistical reports; makes basic interpretations - Compose routine correspondence to furnish or request information - Write summaries, histories and reports of limited scope - Participates in grant activities as required - i.e. student visits to campus, summer camps, parent programs - Administers surveys to students and parents - Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree including college-level course work in a computer programming language (e.g. SQL) and one year of experience developing relational databasesOR an equivalent combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job
Experience using word processing software such as MS Word, spreadsheet software such as MS Excel, and database software such as MS Access
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience working with GEAR UP or other grants.
Experience working with public school districts

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: $3436/month with periodic increases up to $4506/month
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
