Provides secretarial and organizational support for Chairperson of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties; assists with research related data entry and typing research related documents; assists with development of multi-specialty clinical templates within MSU electronic medical records; inputs computer data for faculty and staff positions including clinical/adjunct faculty across Statewide Campus System; assists the department with student scholarships including processing awards, maintains and updates electronic appointment calendar; searches Web sites for information to accomplish educational, research and administrative department goals; travel including arranging programs, flights,etc.; collects data and assists in the preparation of reports; interprets University policy and administrative procedures in response to inquiries; prepares and inputs financial data using Excel.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with computer related secretarial duties in word processing, calendaring and database entry software; experience with medical terminology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Bachelors degree; Detail oriented; flexible; proficient use of PC platform; familiarity with Enterprise Business Systems, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, and Chrome; ability to keep abreast of new information and communication technology to support research, financial, clinical and collaborative work and prioritize to complete assignments with short deadlines; ability to access University and College business and academic policies and procedures; demonstrates a work orientation that includes strong organizational skills, proactive problem solving, taking initiative, working as part of a team, and learning for continuous self-improvement; strong problem solving, communication and social skills; experience with Electronic Medical Records; experience in a medical setting.
