Essential Functions: This position facilitates research activities within Translational Sciences and Clinical Research Innovation within the Office of the Vice President for Research. The group is actively involved in clinical research collaborations with industry partners as well as the administration and conduct of clinical research trial management. Responsibilities include managing multi-site clinical research trials, with respect to coordinated subject recruitment and data collection at multiple clinical sites throughout not only Detroit, but also across the United States. This position will be providing advice on protocol content and implementation systems, compiling and analyzing data, and directing participating staff and clinical sites. The position will work closely with the Director to ensure efficient and effective enrollment and clinical trial conduct. Coordinates clinical research trials and protocols including but not limited to development of protocols and subsequent manuscripts, clinical trial design and implementation, and development of novel strategies for maximizing trial participation. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, medical or science related field. Master's degree preference.Direct clinical research experience required. Previous direct individual care experience. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with industry sponsors, businesses, care providers, operations and support staff, regulatory entities and study participants. Active problem solving, flexibility, self-motivation and self-learning, with a desire to work with diverse workforce and subject populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate is well organized, self-motivated and able to manage effectively. Ability to conduct literature searches, with a working knowledge of Internet access, browsers and search engines. Valid driver's license and ability to attend off-site meetings.
