The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Regional Laboratory Manager to oversee the labs at MSK Westchester and MSK Bergen (opening in 2018).
As Laboratory Manager you will:
Plan, organize and direct the day to day operations of laboratories at Westchester (NY) and Bergen (NJ) sites
Work to achieve efficient and effective operations, to ensure quality service and to meet the needs of the clinical staff and patients
Review new policies and procedures with staff as directed by Lab Administrator
Monitor Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Inspection Control practices to assure compliance with internal and external regulations
Ensure smooth workflow, and demonstrate decision-making abilities in all aspects of performance in support of the Department
Information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share and/or present information to employees and management staff at MSKCC and appropriate external contacts
The ability to multi-task and handle a variety of situations simultaneously
The ability to analyze laboratory needs (e.g., human resource/ equipment/financial), systems, and procedures
Bachelor's degree (Biology, Chemistry, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required, as is 6+ years of relevant experience
Must have previous supervisory experience
Previous experience in a generalist role required
NY State Clinical Labs license required; ASCP certification preferred
