The goal of Ambulatory Care is to develop an integrated and standardized set of processes that delivers personalized healthcare, consultation, treatment and intervention using advanced medical technology or procedures. The Practice Optimization Manager is a key leadership role within the Practice Optimization Team. The Practice Optimization Manager will serve as a change management leader to drive performance improvement across all ambulatory practice areas. The Practice Optimization Manager will report directly to the VP for Ambulatory.

Functions/Duties of Position
This role of the Practice Optimization Manager on the Practice Optimization Team will be (1) possess sophisticated and thorough understanding of practice workflows (2) lead and teach practices through collaborative learning model (3) drive standardized work plans and implementation of standards (4) build process changes that will improve workflows, compliance or resolve issues (4) lead the optimization project including meeting coordination, timeline scheduling, and team updates (5) work collaboratively with other members of the various centralized support teams to· address all issues faced by the Ambulatory practices (6) consistently demonstrates superior customer relation skills at all levels, teaching them in public and private settings, 7) will act as a nurse consultant to all practice managers promoting safe patient care delivery systems as defined by OHSU Ambulatory Scope of Practice guidelines.
The Incumbent will develop a close working relationship and integration with all departments and applications involved in the optimization effort. They will be a liaison between practice management and the support departments and applications as they relate to optimization efforts. He/she will also provide expert consultation to the leadership of the OHSU Practice Plan, Epic team(s), Ambulatory Access Services, and practice administrators. The incumbent will represent Ambulatory practices by serving on committees which include but not limited to Code Blue Committee, Professional Practice Review Board, Patient Executive Committee, and CHH 2 Clinic Activation Operations.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Ambulatory Nursing experience
Minimum of 3 years of Nurse practice management experience - no substitutions.
Track record of performance improvement at the medical practice level.
Experience with data mining from EMR.
Ability to work in a highly autonomous role by demonstrating self-motivation and creativity in design approach.
Ability to function effectively in a very dynamic team environment .
Ability to proactively pursue problem resolution to satisfy customer needs.
Ability to work with users to accurately assess and diagnose system problems as defined by the user.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis and reporting practices pertinent to process improvement.
Active Oregon Board of Nursing License
Compliance with code of conduct, respect in the workplace, HIPAA regulations, and applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole.
Master's Degree in Nursing Healthcare, Business, Public Administration or related field.
Training and direct experience in implementing Lean, Change Acceleration Process (CAP) and Six Sigma.
Project management experience specific to ambulatory or outpatient care.
Green Belt in Six Sigma or current enrollment in process improvement classes leading to certification.
PMP or other Project Management type of certification or current enrolment in project management.
