In collaboration with Columbia Memorial Hospital, Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon to join our growing general surgery practice in Astoria, Oregon. Functions/Duties of Position
The primary clinical assignment will be to provide inpatient, outpatient, and general surgical services at Columbia Memorial Hospital. This will include two days of clinic coverage, one day of endoscopy coverage, one day of surgery and one administrative day. You will share call and back up call on an equivalent basis.
You will spend some time at OHSU consulting with other specialists, performing co-surgery on difficult cases and engaging in academic pursuits. This will include attending and participating in surgical conferences and pre-arranged meetings through our telemedicine services.
Medical Degree conferred from accredited institution
Graduate of accredited resident program in General Surgery
Board certified or board eligible with two years of experience in general surgery
Demonstrated aptitude and existing skills for General Surgery
Desire to build a practice in a community based clinical environment with the partnership of an academic health care system
Demonstrated focus and drive to excel
Ability to provide excellent clinical care to surgery patients in a community
