This position is required for the project focusing on immunomodulatory effects of combination strategies using therapeutic antibodies against Multiple Myeloma. Appointee will work on a project focusing on checkpoint signaling role in Multiple Myeloma tumor microenvironment using patient bone marrow samples.
Duties include working with cell lines and primary cell isolation and culture, flow cytometry and FACS sorting and analysis. This position will work on an independent research project as well as closely with researchers in support of multiple projects with multi-parameter flow cytometry/cell sorting and immune function and phenotyping. General responsibilities of this position will include processing and manipulations of bone marrow aspirate and peripheral blood samples of patients with plasma cell malignancies and healthy individuals.
Ph.D. degree with at least one-year doctoral training in immunology, molecular biology, or relevant field.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time.
Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems.
Must be proficient with computers running Windows applications e.g. MS Excel, Outlook, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person.
Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships.
3+ years of flow cytometry experience and strong knowledge of BD machines including FACSAria and LSRFortessa.
3 years of experience performing FACS based analysis of hematological cell populations.
Comfortable developing and running 6+ color panels.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong ability to evaluate data for quality and troubleshoot data acquisition issues.
Hands on experience with cell culture (cell lines and primary cells).
Proficient using FlowJo and DIVA software and data banking.
