The Hemophilia Center at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) mission is to assure people with bleeding and clotting disorders living in Oregon and southwest Washington are identified and have ready access to state-of-the-art, patient-centered, culturally-sensitive coordinated services. There are over 1500 patients and families served by this program. The Hemophilia Center provides multidisciplinary diagnosis, consultation and treatment to individuals with bleeding and clotting disorders

Functions/Duties of Position
The Hemophilia Center nurse practitioner/PA provides day-to-day care and management of all patients affected by bleeding and clotting disorders in collaboration with a team of nurses, physical therapists, social workers, education and nutrition specialists and psychologists. The nurse practitioner/PA is supported by a provider team of three pediatric hematologists and three medical hematologists. The nurse practitioner/PA facilitates the outpatient coordination of care as well as meeting the day-to-day acute care needs in coordination with our center's staff. This individual leads and participates in training and community education with families, patients and health care providers. This individual additionally participates in and has the opportunity to initiate bleeding disorders related research.
Valid Oregon PA license or Oregon RN license and Family Nurse Practitioner certification with prescriptive privileges and DEA number
Current CPR Certification
Excellent organization, verbal and oral communication skills
Able to function as member of an interdisciplinary team, providing family centered care
Experience with bleeding and clotting disorders or in hematology preferred
Able to travel for outreach programs, hemophilia summer camp, training and meetings, including overnight stays
